Doctor Who: The Last Voyage (Recommendation)

Fun Audio Book Recommendation:

I am an avid Doctor Who fan and while I have loved many of the regenerations of the Doctor and love Chris Eccleston and Matt Smith for helping bring the re-vamped series to life, David Tennant is "The Doctor" for me. Chris was my first and Matt is growing on me but there was something about David Tennant that glued me to the screen and kept it both dramatic and fun. So when a friend of mine Keri was going through an audio book phase (not actually a "phase" at all, now she has me listening to them too) I ended up finding this and and trying it out because of the pretty red button on it that says "Read By David Tennant". If you are a Doctor Who fan who loves the books, I highly recommend the printed books of course but the audiobooks read by cast members and especially David Tennant and Matt Smith are BRILLIANT.

I literally sat there and closed my eyes and could see it all play out like my own personalize Doctor Who episode while listening to Tennant's wonderful dramatization.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I am definitely going to be trying out more of these. I will have more recommendations coming up soon for print, ebooks and audio. I think I might be coming up on a reading spree. I love reading while I get ready to market for upcoming releases because it always keeps me inspired to push forward!

  1. Oh my gosh! I didn't know they had audio books like this. I feel like you just opened my eyes; I must have been living in the dark! This is awesome! Matt Smith is "my Doctor," but my friend is in love with David, so I will be definitely looking these up. Thank you so much for letting me know!

    1. No problem! I didn't even know until I tried and Audible free trial with the two free e-books and saw this one. They are great! Plus, a lot of libraries now carry them as cds or even on their online databases. :) I would definitely suggest you try some. I tried Dead Air after this one and am now on The Stone Rose. They are very addictive and the Matt Smith ones sound amazing too! :D

  2. Matt Smith is also my Doctor, although David was for the longest time.

Is this one of those written-for-audio books? 'Cause a lot of David's narrations I haven't listened to because they are abridged. That's what I like about the 11 books. None of them are abridged. Although, I've only ever listened to the ones narrated by Arthur Darvill.

My audio book phase-turned-craze continues. I love them.

    1. KERI!!!!
It might be abridged, I am not sure. I think it might be like Dead Air and written for audio though. Matt Smith has grown on me but David is still the one :p Even if my sonic screwdriver is the Matt one and not the David... what can I say, the Matt one is more durable. :p

  3. I've managed to avoid getting into the Doctor Who series thus far... I have seen David Tennant in other work, of course.

    1. It is one of my favorites. It is one series where they don't put any limits on the endless possibilities for twists and turns and exploration. :)
