• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

As the planchette spells out I-S-E-E-Y-O-U, the other girls become deathly quiet. All jokes have ended."

Lies: A Gone Novel by Michael Grant

I love this trailer. It catches your attention and is in full film. It also gives you a good idea about the plot and what you can expect which is something I enjoy. I like to know what I am getting myself into when I decide to buy a book. So I will be trying this series. I think the concept is really interesting and am looking forward to seeing if it is another winner or not!

My Teaser:
I grabbed this book at BEA and decided to share the very first line because it was part of what really got my attention (awesome cover right?):

"Attention: There has been a shooting on school grounds. The building is currently under full lockdown. Please check back here for updates. -Quiet High website"

The Predicteds by Christine Seifert - page 3 (first of ch 1 and not prologue)

Yes, that is seriously how it starts. As you can imagine, while it wasn't the book I planned on reading first after my haul it ended up becoming first after that line. I just couldn't help myself!

Review: Guardian of the Gate by Michelle Zink

Photobucket

Novel: Guardian of the Gate
Author: Michelle Zink
Pages: 352
Genre: Young Adult

Photobucket

The ultimate battle between sisters is nearing, and its outcome could have catastrophic consequences. As sixteen year-old Lia Milthorpe searches for a way to end the prophecy, her twin sister Alice hones the skills she'll need to defeat Lia. Alice will stop at nothing to reclaim her sister's role in the prophecy, and that's not the only thing she wants: There's also Lia's boyfriend James.

Lia and Alice always knew the Prophecy would turn those closest to them against them. But they didn't know what betrayal could lead them to do. In the end, only one sister will be left standing.

(I will not be posting any spoilers! Only opinion for the sake of those of us who love to have our first look at a book be untainted by foreknowledge.)

I absolutely loved Guardian of the Gate and Michelle Zink's writing style is hauntingly beautiful. I was on a plane ride and ended up taking a break from the book because of traveling, (I can't read on a plane or in a car) by the time I got home I could hardly wait and instead of unpacking I ended up on the bed reading. The story is told so beautifully that I can't help being swept off my feet. I want the next book!!! All of the characters grow in different ways, some ways you will be proud of, others you might be ashamed. One of the points to this book that I love was hearing more about both sisters than only one. I am always curious about the other side of things and am looking forward to finding out more. I also LOVE Demitri, he is seriously yummy and another reason I can hardly wait for the next novel! Gimme, gimme, gimme! Thank goodness I only have to wait until September!

5 Star!

Would I suggest you read it:

Yes! I love the Michelle Zink novels. This series is definitely worth your time. It has a very unique feel to it because of the wonderful writing style!
